Specialist Occupational Therapist – Band 6

Greenwich Community Neurorehabilitation Team is looking to appoint a motivated and committed Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist with a keen interest and proven experience of working with adults with neurological conditions. Ideally you will be an existing B6 OT wanting to further develop your specialist skills in neurology and community working.

You will be part of a busy community multidisciplinary Neuro‑Rehabilitation Team in the London Borough of Greenwich, working 37.5 hours per week (Mon‑Fri). You need to be a confident, autonomous practitioner with high‑level communication skills, a flexible problem‑solving approach, good clinical reasoning skills, and be efficient in your time and people management. The service provides care in clients’ own homes, care homes, and the local community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist neurological OT assessment and treatment to clients presenting with highly complex neurological conditions including Stroke, MND, MS, Head Injury, and Parkinson’s.
  • Develop and review individualised treatment plans in line with the Neurorehabilitation service.
  • Deliver joint goal setting and regular in‑service training within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide professional supervision to Band 5 OT, therapy assistants and OT students, and develop supervisory skills.
  • Work closely with other colleagues in the South East London sector and support the development of the team in line with the Neuro Core offer.
Qualifications & Support
  • Band 6 Occupational Therapist qualification and experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in neurology and community‑based rehabilitation.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle (lease car scheme available).
  • Support and training from the 8a Clinical Specialist and Highly Specialist Band 7 OT.
  • Opportunity for continued professional development, including in‑service training and quarterly peer supervision.
