An exciting opportunity has arisen for an existing band 6 or experienced band 5 to join the Medicine and Surgery Occupational Therapy Team, based at QMC. This is a full-time, permanent, static post.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is committed to further improving their clinical skills and who puts excellent quality care at the heart of their practice. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of complex case management, rehabilitation skills, and leadership qualities.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team who promote the importance of ongoing learning and development. There will be opportunity to contribute to service development.
We are proud to be a referral-based generalist team, providing OT input to a variety of specialities including general medicine, vascular surgery, respiratory, gynaecology, surgical admissions, ENT and Maxillo-facial surgery, hepatobiliary, colorectal and gastro including specialist feeding unit. Recent complex patients have included individuals with Functional neurological disorder, drug and alcohol excess and complex psychosocial factors.
Our team also provides the unique opportunity to work with new and established vascular lower limb amputees, including recovery and rehabilitation, wheelchair provision and access and discharge visits within the patient\'s home environment.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent core occupational therapy skills in assessment and intervention.

You will demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and provide support to other members of the team including; peers, Band 5 OTs (including preceptees), support workers, and students. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work flexibly to support the needs of the service.
Full time, permanent role 37.5 hours per week,
Core hours are worked 8am-4pm, Monday Friday.
Additional duties will include participation in weekend working. Weekends are rostered with expected frequency of approx. 2 every 6 months (note frequency may increase dependent on service need and staffing levels)
