The Emergency Gynaecology Unit is recruiting a Band 6 Specialist Nurse to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and delegate roles to staff members for the shift.
  • Interpret results and plan care for patients with early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecological issues.
  • Review, assess and examine patients with early pregnancy complications and acute gynaecological issues.
  • Provide high quality bereavement care for patients experiencing pregnancy loss.
  • Engage with IQP and contribute to moving the department forward.
  • Lead on IQP work and act as a Link Role.

Qualifications
  • Completed the Emergency Gynaecology course.
  • Competent in assessing patients presenting with early pregnancy complications and/or acute gynaecological conditions.
  • Competent in examining patients with early pregnancy complications.
  • Competent in planning ongoing care and interpreting results to plan care for patients with early pregnancy complications.
  • Co-ordinating a busy, fast-paced Gynaecology emergency department.
  • Ability to see, treat, and discharge/plan for all pregnancy-related attendances.
Work Patterns

EGU is a 24/7 fast-paced emergency service. You will be expected to work long days, twilights and night shifts.
