The role
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) are looking for an experienced Flood Risk Management professional to lead technical modelling work across North and Mid Wales. You\'ll provide strategic direction to the Flood Risk Analysis Team, shaping national policy through collaboration with Welsh Government and specialist sub-groups. Your expertise in hydraulic modelling and hydrological analysis-including advanced practical knowledge of 1D/2D fluvial or coastal modelling software-will be key to delivering complex, high-impact projects.
Working alongside a team of experienced technical staff, you will play a vital role in NRW\'s emergency flood response as a Category 1 Responder. You\'ll represent the organisation in Tactical Command during flood incidents, as part of our flood duty rota, providing out of hours support to our Flood Warning Service that protects communities and safeguards the environment.
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

About us
You will be joining the Flood Risk Analysis Team in North Wales, within our Flood and Water Management Department. The team provides expert flood risk mapping and hydrological modelling services within NRW and covers North and Mid Wales including the Dyfi, Severn, Dee, Clwyd and Conwy catchments; along with the coastlines of North and North West Wales.
