We are looking for a Band 6 Dietitian to join the Cancer Services team at St George’s Hospital. You will provide specialist dietetic care to Head and Neck, Oncology and Haematology patients on rotation, following evidence‑based practice, and will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team. You will also educate patients and staff, develop nutrition policies and guidelines, and participate in audit and research to improve health outcomes and advance the role and service.
The post holder will cover both in‑patients on Oncology/Haematology or Head and Neck wards and out‑patient clinics in a variety of settings, including consultant‑led and telephone clinics. You will work closely with the wider MDT within each specialty and will be expected to participate in MDT training and development, departmental audits, student training, and supervision of Band 4 or 5 posts.
The wider dietetic department consists of over 70 dietitians, who provide clinical inpatient and outpatient services to a variety of specialties including oncology, renal, neurology, haematology, paediatrics, cardiology, major trauma, intensive care, gastro‑enterology, surgical, diabetes, infectious diseases and HIV. We also work closely with our community colleagues.
The department is committed to training dietetic students and actively participates in the training programmes of clinical and non‑clinical staff. There are numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.
We expect all our staff to share the values that are important to the trust – being excellent, kind, responsible and respectful – and to behave in a way that reflects these.
