Overview

Specialist Attendance Advisors - Ref: CH06225. 1 Year Fixed Term contract. G8: £37,280 - £41,771 (Pro Rata - term time only).

Role and context

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and efficient individual seeking a new challenge within the School Attendance Service. The successful candidate will provide first-tier management to Attendance Officers, so experience in supervising or managing a team is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out specialist tasks to improve school attendance, as well as direct work with families.
  • Travel to schools and other locations within and outside Walsall.
  • Support and supervise Attendance Officers, contributing to the ongoing development of attendance strategies.
  • Work with the School Attendance Service’s range of strategies—from early intervention and restorative approaches to statutory enforcement—to drive continued progress in school participation.
  • Contribute to business development, as the service is commissioned by schools in Walsall and neighbouring areas.
Experience and qualifications
  • Experience in an educational setting and a background in managing attendance—whether in a School Attendance Service, school-based role, or another relevant organisation.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the causes of irregular attendance and provide evidence of how they have contributed to improving attendance in previous roles.
Hours and location
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only.
  • Location: Remote working available.
