Job summary

Overview

Role: Special Needs Teacher

Job: Long Term Contract - Full Time - 2 Terms (October to Easter)

Veritas Education are currently working with a cluster of special needs schools within the area who are looking for a long term cover teacher, starting from October 2025.

About the role

The special needs school supports children from early years to post 16 age groups, there is flexibility within the role to be in either age group, or across both if preferred.

The ideal candidate will be a committed, caring and pro-active teacher, who actively looks to promote inclusion, learning development and fun across their lessons. They will be confident in managing behaviour across the classes (between 6-10 learners at a time), and comfortable adapting sessions to meet the needs and abilities of all children.

Requirements
  • QTS - Qualified Teacher Status
  • Previous Teaching experience (Either across mainstream or Special Needs Settings)
  • Comfortable planning for a range of needs, abilities and communication levels
  • Experience teaching to children with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Pre/Non-Verbal communication needs, and SEMH requirements.
