Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, London Road, Reading RG1 5AN
Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm
Pay Rate: £12.51 an hour + Escalated rates over the weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and cooking patient/restaurant meals in our modern well‑equipped kitchen.
  • Provide information on food service, matters including recipes and wastage information.
  • Planning meals and menus.
  • Lifting and storing of heavy provisions.
  • Keep up to date with departmental COSHH manual and PPE requirement for each food preparation and cleaning task.
  • Storing food correctly.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the department, including personal hygiene.
Requirements
  • Relevant Chef/Cooking experience.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Good communicator who can follow instructions.
  • Allergen Awareness.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Food Safety Level 2.
