Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the ultrasound department at the Tunbridge Wells hospital (Pembury site). The unit has five scan rooms in the main department, one in triage and one in the early pregnancy unit.

We are looking for two obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound sonographers who are passionate about women's healthcare and highly motivated to work in a progressive, value‑driven organisation that prides itself on outstanding care and staff welfare.

As a specialised women’s health unit, the work includes gynae, obstetrics, cancer pathways and a dedicated early pregnancy unit. You will scan with our fetal medicine consultant, working closely with consultant leads. This role offers an opportunity to develop organisational and clinical skills, with support for newly qualified staff, and active involvement in CPD, clinical governance and audit.

The department performs a wide range of scans: GP gynae, rapid access, dating, NT, anomaly, growth and multiple pregnancy scans. Separate emergency and early pregnancy scan rooms are also available.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideal candidates should hold a DMU, PG certificate or equivalent qualification.

We look forward to working with you to balance your professional development with flexible working arrangements that suit both the Trust and you.

Benefits
  • At least 27 days of annual leave plus public/bank holidays (pro‑rata for part‑time staff).
  • Membership in the NHS Pension Scheme, with a 20.6% employer contribution and life assurance benefits.
  • Blue Light card eligibility.
  • Additional benefits available in the benefits documents below.
