You will design and prototype modern digital solutions, leveraging cloud services, AI, VR/AR, Edge AI, and other emerging technologies to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements. You will collaborate across the Halma Group to deliver group-level initiatives and individual company projects, promote best practices in software development, and create reusable technical assets that enable rapid solution deployment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Senior Solutions Architect and the Digital Solutions team to ensure solutions are based on modern technologies that are scalable, secure, and offer benefits to the business, encouraging adoption by individual companies.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams across the Halma Group to deliver strategic, group-level initiatives, including the rollout of in-house Generative AI solutions.
  • Design and develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototype solutions to support OpCo project initiatives, aligning with business requirements and digital strategies, leveraging technologies such as cloud services, AI services, VR/AR, Edge AI, and other emerging innovations to explore and validate new capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and hands‑on support to technical teams across group companies to foster the adoption of modern software development practices and champion best practices in code quality, version control, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and agile methodologies.
  • Develop scalable and reusable technical assets, including reference architectures, implementation playbooks, and solution templates, to accelerate delivery and promote consistency across group companies.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to translate innovative ideas into tangible prototypes that support strategic decision‑making and stakeholder engagement.
Required Prerequisites
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud‑native development, ideally within the Azure ecosystem.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with C# and/or Python.
  • Strong proficiency in cloud services (e.g., Azure App Services, AI Services, Functions, Logic Apps).
  • Hands‑on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Skilled in Git‑based version control (GitHub, Azure DevOps) and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with software testing practices including unit, integration, and automated testing.
  • Understanding of solution architecture principles, including scalability, security, maintainability, and performance optimisation.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and domains, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative development cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical teams and senior decision‑makers effectively.
  • Experience with Generative AI technologies and concepts including LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and frameworks such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
  • Experience in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automation, Copilot Studio).
  • Front‑end development experience building responsive and accessible web applications using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Exposure to technologies such as edge computing and VR/AR.
Professional Attributes
  • Passion for learning and leveraging new technologies with a focus on applying them to solve real‑world problems.
  • Entrepreneurial, “can‑do” approach – determined, creative, resilient, with a ferocious work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills, facilitating communication, encouraging adoption of modern practices, and contributing to a culture of innovation.
  • Ability to navigate complex organisations and effectively socialize new ideas, fostering adoption and knowledge sharing across Halma’s companies.
  • Well‑versed in rapidly evolving technology landscapes, identifying relevant trends and translating them into practical, forward‑thinking solutions.
