Abuse Solicitor – Hybrid – North West / North East Salary: £40,000–£65,000 DOE + benefits

A leading national law firm is seeking a talented and compassionate Abuse Solicitor to join its expanding Abuse & Exploitation team. This specialist department represents survivors of child sexual exploitation (CSE), grooming, and institutional abuse, and is committed to delivering justice through high-quality, trauma-informed legal support.

This Abuse Solicitor role offers hybrid working from the start (typically 2–3 days office-based, depending on location), with teams operating across the North West and North East, including Manchester and Newcastle.

The Role – Abuse Solicitor

As an Abuse Solicitor, you will manage a sensitive and rewarding caseload of civil abuse and exploitation claims, supporting survivors from instruction to resolution. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of civil abuse and exploitation claims, from initial instruction to conclusion.
  • Investigating cases, gathering evidence, reviewing complex records, and liaising with experts.
  • Delivering clear, empathetic legal advice while maintaining strong, supportive client relationships.
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies, professionals, and support organisations.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and negotiations, ensuring accurate case reporting and compliance.
About You – Abuse Solicitor
  • Applications are welcome from NQ to experienced Abuse Solicitors with a passion for advocacy, justice, and survivor-focused legal work.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in abuse litigation, personal injury, or human rights work (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong civil litigation knowledge and procedural understanding.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage emotionally sensitive conversations.
  • A meticulous, analytical approach to reviewing medical and documentary evidence.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive, values-driven team.
