Job description
Overview

Founded in 2017, Obsidian Security was created to close a critical gap: securing the SaaS applications where modern business happens—platforms like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and hundreds more.

Backed by top investors including Greylock, Norwest Venture Partners, and IVP, we’ve built a complete SaaS security platform to reduce risk, detect and respond to threats, and prevent breaches at the source. Our team includes leaders who helped define the categories of endpoint and identity security at CrowdStrike, Okta, Cylance, and Carbon Black.

Now, we’re transforming how SaaS is secured—in the era of agentic AI.

Today, Obsidian is trusted by global enterprises like Snowflake, T-Mobile, and Pure Storage. We protect more than 200 organizations across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand—including many of the world’s largest Fortune 1000 and Global 2000 companies.

With strong global momentum, a growing partner ecosystem including SentinelOne, Databricks, and Google Cloud, and a major fundraise on the horizon, we’re scaling quickly toward long-term growth and IPO readiness. Join us as we define the future of SaaS security!

Responsibilities
  • Full-Stack Development: Design, build, and maintain both front-end and back-end components for our SaaS security platform, with particular emphasis on data processing and analytics systems
  • Data Engineering: Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming systems to support security analytics and intelligence.
  • Data Architecture: Design and implement scalable data storage solutions, including databases, data warehouses, and distributed data systems.
  • Security Focus: Work on security-related features, integrating cutting-edge security protocols, and building tools that help secure our customers’ data and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features and enhance the platform's security.
  • System Design: Participate in high-level system design and architecture discussions for new features and products.
  • Problem Solving: Identify technical issues and implement solutions to improve the performance, scalability, and security of the platform.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in code quality, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Innovation: Stay updated on security trends, technologies, and best practices, and contribute ideas to the development of new security features.
Key Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern web frameworks and front-end technologies (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
  • Experience with data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Dagster or similar)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Experience with testing frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Bonus Points
  • Experience working with SaaS platforms and APIs.
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies.
