A leading defense contractor in Blackwood, UK is seeking a Software Asset Controller to manage the software asset lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee software acquisition, manage licensing agreements, and negotiate terms related to supplier contracts. Expertise in software asset management and procurement laws is essential. Applicants must be able to obtain UK Security clearance. This role is outside IR35, with a planned start in March 2026.

The Software Asset Controller will provide full Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle services from software acquisition and commercial review to software Licence management and full technology road maps. Experience of supporting supplier contract management, negotiation of commercial terms including software Licence loans and agreements is essential. The Software Asset Controller will be a main point of contact for programme software lifecycle and support supply chain commercial requirements across the General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) UK business units

General Dynamics Mission Systems utilises QDOS IR35 Status Review. The requirements of this contract have been evaluated as Outside IR35– Prior to the engagement start you will need to complete a status questionnaire in order to receive the finalised status determination.
All successful/appointed applicants must be able to obtain a level of UK Security clearance that is appropriate for the role and undertake suitable Right to work checks.
