Overview

Are you a compassionate and experienced Social Worker ready to make a real difference in the lives of older adults? Join the Older People Mental Health East team in St Leonards-on-Sea, where you’ll provide high-impact care and support while enjoying the flexibility of hybrid working and the opportunity for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

About the Role

You’ll support adults with Dementia or severe and enduring mental health challenges, particularly those over the age of 70. This role involves statutory assessments, safeguarding investigations, support planning, and working closely with families, carers, and partner agencies.

You’ll maintain a varied caseload and contribute to multidisciplinary strategies that empower clients to live independently. It’s an excellent opportunity to apply your clinical judgment while innovating in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct statutory social care assessments and safeguarding investigations
  • Create and review personalised support plans
  • Present case reports to panels or courts
  • Liaise with families, carers, NHS services, and other agencies
  • Promote safe and independent living for older adults
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns and mental health crises
  • Participate in hybrid work: a blend of home, office, and client visits
  • Stay up to date with mental health and social care legislation
Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a reflective, empathetic, and proactive individual who is:

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in supporting older adults or mental health service users
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures and health/social care laws
  • Skilled in building support networks with internal and external partners
  • A confident communicator and team collaborator
  • Flexible with working arrangements and travel
Visa Sponsorship

This role is eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, subject to meeting UK Home Office requirements. Please indicate your need for sponsorship in your application so we can assess eligibility early in the process.
