A local authority in the UK is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the South Adult Locality Team in Weston-super-Mare. This role involves undertaking Care Act assessments, supporting individuals with complex needs, and collaborating with multi-agency partners. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our South Adult Locality Team. This is well-established and supportive Adult Social Care Team based at Town Hall, Weston- super- Mare with hybrid working. The team covers Weston, Worle areas and surrounding villages
In this role, you will work within key legislative frameworks including the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983, you will make defensible decisions in partnership with people with care and support needs, supporting them to take positive risks in order to promote and balance their independence, safety and wellbeing.
As a Social Worker you will be undertaking Care Act Assessments, and co-producing care and support plans with individuals, identifying their strengths and assets to determine person-centred outcomes. You will undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and be involved in Best Interest Decision making. You will hold a manageable caseload and will have shared responsibility for coordinating safeguarding enquiries in a person-centred way.
You will use your social work knowledge, skills and values to promote the rights and choices of people with care and support needs.
You will work in close partnership with people with care and support needs, their families, carers and a range of multi-agency partners to achieve desired and eligible outcomes.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
This position is currently based at our Castlewood offices in Clevedon. Please be advised that this office will be closing in 2025. Consultation is currently underway to determine the new location for colleagues based in Castlewood. This will be at Weston-super-Mare or within North Somerset.
