As a Social Therapist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on an in-patient ward (Sunrise Ward) with supervision, support and training you will deliver interventions defined within the personalised care plan, spend time engaging, connecting and supporting service users, families, carers and friends through their recovery pathway. You will help facilitate activities/groups and ward based projects and be actively involved in every aspect of their physical, psychological and social care of people who uses our service. You will be expected to work 38.5 hours a week with an expectation of working days and nights.

Sunrise Ward is a highly specialised eating disorder service for women, including those with extremely low BMIs. We focus on supporting individuals to attain a healthy BMI and prepare for a return to home. Cygnet Hospital Ealing provides a welcoming, non-institutional environment, offering personalised treatment for service users with an eating disorder or personality disorder over two separate wards.

  • Actively participate in both the assessment and care plan process, defining care needs and ensuring care is individualised and truly meets the holistic needs of the service user.
  • Working with both the registered nurses and other members of the Multi Disciplinary Team to ensure defined care is implemented, that patients are actively involved in all aspects of their care and fully understand the Care Programme Approach process.
  • Ensuring that creative and meaningful activities both individual and group take place especially outside the hours of 9-5 domain focussing on not only recreational activities but recovery, awareness and moving on.
  • Workng as an associate nurse participating in MDT reviews and care discussions for the service user
