A local authority in the UK is looking for an Adult Strategic Safeguarding Officer to join their team on a 6-month temporary contract. This hybrid role involves maintaining care standards and working closely with service providers. A relevant NVQ Level 3 in health or social care is required. The position focuses on safeguarding issues and requires effective record-keeping and good interpersonal skills.
Gloucestershire County Council is offering an initial temporary contract for 6 months with a view to extension or a permanent position for the right candidate. The rate is negotiable depending on experience. Location: BS37 5AF.
The Adult Strategic Safeguarding Team sits within the Commissioning, Performance and Housing Division of the People directorate. The team is responsible for strategic safeguarding issues for Adults, including leading organisational safeguarding enquiries, contributing to departmental and multi-agency quality assurance work, and processing complaints. The work is overseen by the Local Safeguarding Adults Board and involves multi-agency initiatives to monitor good practice across partner agencies.
Hybrid role: predominantly home-based with occasional days in the Yate office or in the community. Local candidates are preferred.
