SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT - NORTHFIELDS, BIRMINGHAM, B31 – £26,000‑£28,000

No sponsorship provided. Must have right to work in the UK, a car and a UK driver's licence, and be available for full‑time work.

This is a full‑time role involving domiciliary care and office‑based work.

Responsibilities
  • Work with other staff to assist in administration, write and review assessments, produce staff shift rota, train junior staff, and contribute to marketing and promotion (leaflet drops/handouts), manage 50% care calls, and participate in the on‑call rota.
  • Help service users overcome mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including use of aids and personal equipment.
  • Provide personal care and support to service users in their own homes in line with agreed care and support plans.
  • Support junior care workers, offer guidance to improve workforce standards, and contribute to specialised care plans (e.g., dementia, re‑enablement, continence difficulties).
  • Assist users with prescribed medication as specified on their care plans.
  • Read and write reports, participate in service user meetings and training activities, and maintain accurate English notes, journals, incident reports and meeting minutes.
  • Report to the RM on any aspects of service user care that warrant urgent action and comply with service guidelines and policies at all times.
  • Participate in and attend team, staff, and other meetings to ensure shared learning and communications are understood.
  • Conduct spot checks, audits, reviews with actions, record and review concerns & incidents on CLL, and follow up actions and shared learnings.
Essential Criteria
  • Self‑motivated, organised and caring.
  • Able to write and review assessments, care plans, and preferably work staff rota.
  • Able to follow care planning requirements and instructions.
  • Flexible in terms of availability and working hours, adaptable to care work and administrative work in the office, and willing to go out marketing.
  • Previous experience of care work.
  • Own a car and have a UK driver's licence.
