Job summary

The role requires expertise in gas and electric metering systems, excellent communication, and training skills, and a minimum of 4 years' relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in dual fuel gas and electric smart metering activities.
  • Experience in training and mentoring individuals.
  • Knowledge of single phase and multiple rate metering.
  • Full clean driving license required.

Role Overview

Are you're an experienced trainer or looking to transition off the tools, this is your chance to make a real impact.
At Sureserve Compliance North, we deliver high-quality training across the gas, renewables, and utilities sectors—and we’re growing. We're looking for a hands‑on Smart Metering Trainer to join our expert team from within our training centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver industry leading training, create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment

  • Must be a leader that sets the standard and expectations through example in their conduct, work ethic, integrity and character

  • Able to deliver, manage and motivate trainees through effective training methodologies both in group and individual training environments

  • Deliver and continuously improve training programs as well as ongoing learning opportunities across the organisation

  • Utilise a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs

  • Conduct specific training needs & assessments to support the design, development, and delivery of training programs to ensure delivery of fully competent engineers on behalf of Metering Companies

  • Partner with other group operational management teams to outline deliverables, expectations, and risks, that will include defined post training needs per trainee including mentor documentation

Skills & Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Gas/Electric metering systems, installations and legislation

  • Gas: CCN1 or CMA1, MET1 & REGT1

  • Full understanding of Gas safe and MOCOPA procedures

  • 18th Edition, U16 knowledge and 3 Phase is beneficial

  • High energy, enthusiastic, and motivational training style

  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities

  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft office and web-based systems; visual aids technology

  • Strong organisational, planning, project management, problem solving, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills required,

  • Adept public speaker with strong interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience carrying out dual fuel gas andelectric smart metering activities

  • Training/Mentor experience

  • Soft skills - communication skills verbal and written, critical thinking, time management, team building

  • Single phase 1 rate & 2 Rate knowledge

  • Minimum gas qualification CCN1/CMA1/CMA3, MET1. (3 Phase,REGT1 and other relevant qualifications beneficial)

  • Full clean driving license

  • Qualifications in Training & Assessing (TAQA or equivalent)
