Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Skills Practitioner based in Broadstairs to provide technical support to staff and students. The role involves assessing student work and facilitating learning experiences. Candidates should have Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English, as well as an NVQ 3 or equivalent. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential. This is a temporary position with working hours from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Maths Level 2 (e.g. equivalent to GCSE grade C or above).
  • English Level 2 (e.g. equivalent to GCSE grade C or above).
  • Qualified to NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant area.
  • Health & Safety qualification related to relevant area of work or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in the classroom as required by the tutor.
  • Assess student work, both on campus and at work placements.
  • Liaise with internal and external customers/stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal/external marketing and promotional activities.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environments.

Job description

Our client, an Education Provider based in Broadstairs, is currently looking to recruit a Skills Practitioner to work on a Temporary basis.

You will be working Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, 8.30am - 5pm. The hourly rate for this role depends on experience.

The successful candidate will provide Learning/Technical support to staff and students within the Division and to undertake assessment and quality assurance duties as required and awarding bodies.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • To support students in the classroom as required by the tutor.
  • To undertake assessing of student work, both on campus and at work placements and supervise on-site work experience as required.
  • To liaise with internal and external customers/stakeholders as necessary or required.
  • To support internal/external marketing and promotional activities.
  • Stock control, to include ordering an issuing of supplies.
  • To carry our Fire Warden duties as required.
  • To maintain clean and safe working environments.
  • To supervise, demonstrate and oversee learning as required.
  • To provide feedback to students that will aid successful progression and achievement.
  • To maintain valid, accurate, current and sufficient records (VACS).
  • To participate in the staff support & development scheme and to undertake training based on individual and service needs.
  • To take a lead in creating or to promote a positive, inclusive ethos that challenges discrimination and promotes equality and diversity.
  • To comply with legislative requirements and policies and guidelines in respect to health & safety and data protection.
  • To demonstrate positive personal and professional behaviour as specified in the Staff Code of Conduct.
  • To undertake continuing professional development to support our culture of continuous improvement.
  • To partake in quality assurance systems.
  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with grade as may be reasonably requested.
