Job summary

A support organization for young people is seeking a Skills Coach to provide mentoring and coaching for individuals with learning disabilities and autism in Northampton. This full-time role involves a mix of in-center and job coaching, helping students develop practical skills and confidence in their placements over the course of a one-year maternity cover. Strong communication and empathy are vital for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with learning disabilities, autism, or additional needs.
• Ability to coach step by step with patience and empathy.
• Flexibility for travel training sessions.
• Strong communication skills with both learners and employers.

Responsibilities

• Support learners day-to-day in their work placements.
• Provide 1:1 coaching to build independence and workplace skills.
• Help with travel training when needed.
• Work with tutors, families, and employers to make placements successful.
