Job description

Henley Recruitment are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee daily site operations in Lancaster. The role will be overseeing multiple sites within a small, specified area, retrofitting updated heating systems into government buildings. This role requires excellent leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently communicate with tenants, subcontractors, and clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid H&S background and the ability to build positive working relationships onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day site activities and workforce coordination
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, tenants, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure works are carried out safely, on schedule, and to specification
  • Conduct regular site inspections and enforce compliance with H&S standards
  • Prepare and maintain site records, including RAMS and daily logs
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Valid SSSTS certification
  • CSCS card
  • First Aid trained
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with tenants and nurture positive client relationships
  • Sound understanding of construction processes and building regulations
  • IT‑literate (e.g., MS Office, site reporting software)
  • Knowledge and experience of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Works
