We are looking for a Site Manager to take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of a range of civil engineering works across the wider Devon area. This position involves overseeing day‑to‑day operations on behalf of a public‑sector client, ensuring all works meet programme, cost, and quality expectations.

Key Requirements
  • At least three years’ experience working as a Site Manager or Site Agent within civils or infrastructure.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator capability and strong understanding of temporary works processes.
  • Experience planning and supervising lifting operations.
  • Professional qualification or membership with a recognised engineering institution (e.g., ICE or equivalent).
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between multiple sites.
Role Overview

The appointed Site Manager will coordinate and control activities across several live schemes, acting as the primary point of contact on site. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure smooth delivery and compliance with all safety and environmental standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise on‑site operations across a portfolio of civil engineering projects.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
  • Organise and direct subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials.
  • Track progress, prepare reports, and liaise with project managers and client teams.
  • Manage site resources, schedules, and budgets effectively.
  • Identify and resolve technical or operational issues promptly.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, local communities, and project partners.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience delivering civils or infrastructure projects in a Site Manager capacity.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to manage several work fronts simultaneously.
  • Confident in coordinating temporary works and lifting operations.
