Qualifications

About the role

Balfour Beatty is proud to be delivering the North Hykeham Relief Road project — a major highways infrastructure scheme, designed to improve connectivity, and reduce congestion in the Lincolnshire area. The project includes significant earthworks, drainage, structures, and highway construction, and offers a great opportunity to be part of a high profile civil engineering scheme.

What you'll be doing

You will be:

  • Setting out for earthworks, drainage, structures and road construction
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications and technical information
  • Ensuring works are delivered to line, level and tolerance
  • Managing QA processes, including ITPs, inspections and test records
  • Producing and maintaining as‑built records
  • Supporting subcontractor supervision and technical queries
  • Identifying and resolving engineering and buildability issues on site
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
Who we're looking for

You will have:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major infrastructure / heavy civil engineering projects
  • Strong setting out skills using GPS and robotic total stations
  • Experience with earthworks, drainage and road construction
  • Good understanding of QA procedures and site documentation
  • CSCS card
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
