About the Role:

The Site Engineer plays a critical role in the successful delivery of works on a highly regulated nuclear defence project.

Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and Construction Manager, the Site Engineer supports the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of site activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee allocated packages of work, varying in complexity, including civil engineering, structural works, mechanical and electrical (M&E), and marine engineering activities.
  • Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with project specifications, nuclear safety standards, quality requirements, and statutory regulations.
  • Monitor progress against programme and support the identification and resolution of technical or construction issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and safe execution of works.
  • Support site inspections, quality checks, and verification activities to ensure works meet required standards.
  • Contribute to site documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, permits, and progress reporting.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to health, safety, security, and environmental requirements at all times.
Key Requirements:
  • Working level knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Available to work on site 5 days per week.
  • Active SC clearance or the ability to gain SC clearance.
  • Demonstrable engineering/construction experience (minimum 5 years).
  • Demonstrable site-based leadership experience (minimum 5 years).
  • HNC or HND in a related engineering/construction/project management discipline.
  • NEC4 Supervisor accreditation or the ability to gain NEC4 Supervisor accreditation within 6 months of onboarding.
  • SMSTS accreditation or the ability to gain SMSTS accreditation within 6 months of onboarding.
  • Desirable: Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or IOSH), experience of working in a highly regulated industry (defence/nuclear/oil& gas/rail/pharma).
