Welcome to Clays, the ultimate indoor clay shooting experience and cocktail bar. We bring the thrill of a British clay target shooting weekend to the heart of the city, offering a unique, safe, and fun experience for everyone.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Our Shoot Captains are the soul of our competitive socialising experience. You will bring the Clays experience to life for our guests, running a section of our gaming pegs and controlling the guests' entire journey for multiple groups throughout the operation. Prior hosting and serving experience is highly valued.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Introduce the game, set guests up on the system and get them started.
  • Show guests how to use our Food & Beverage kiosks and assist with placing orders.
  • Ensure guests experience the 12 steps of service, covering every stage of their experience.
  • Manage bookings, coordinate with bar and kitchen to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to all tables in your section.
  • Deliver the full 12 steps of the game and Food & Beverage service while running a section of gaming pegs.
  • Support the events team with group reservations and help run corporate events.
  • Handle face‑to‑face customer enquiries, as well as telephone and email queries in a polite, professional manner.
  • Flex your skills across multiple front‑of‑house roles as required.
  • Develop rapport with guests throughout their experience, ensuring they leave with a smile and are eager for their next visit.
  • Contribute to enhancing the guest experience by giving hints, tips, and recommendations, driving competitive spirit and engagement.
SKILLS, DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
  • Host or hospitality reception / bookings management experience preferred.
  • Previous food and beverage service experience in a restaurant or bar.
  • Passionate about hospitality and creating amazing experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Honest with strong moral principles, take initiative, solve problems calmly and work well under pressure.
  • Enjoy interacting with people and engaging with food and beverage.

  • Competitive base salary of £12.50 per hour plus weekly Tronc service charge distribution.

Employment: Full‑time
Salary: £14.5 – £17.5 hourly (service is uncapped, so there is no max earnings.)
