As a Shift Lead, you will help create a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment by leading shifts, supporting consistent daily routines and ensuring high-quality care. You will guide staff in implementing and reviewing individual care plans, maintain positive relationships with children and young people, and advocate for their wishes in all decision-making. Working closely with families, carers and professionals, you will ensure coordinated and effective support for each child. You will also be responsible for promoting safeguarding, managing risk, and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times. The role includes maintaining accurate and confidential records, contributing to the 24-hour rota, and providing on-shift coaching and support to staff. You will help maintain strong teamwork, uphold high standards of practice and carry out any additional duties required by the manager.

Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent in health and social care) or above
  • Significant experience in residential childcare - 2+ years leadership
  • Full & Clean drivers licence
