Job summary

A leading food manufacturer is seeking a multi-skilled Shift Engineer to provide electrical and mechanical support for production equipment. The ideal candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring plant safety and reliability. Qualifications

Shift Engineer – North East London (E10)

Commutable from Stratford, Walthamstow, Enfield, Cheshunt, Romford, Edgware, Harlow, Barking

Salary: £60,000 + Overtime

Shifts: 4 on 4 off Days & Nights (6:30-6:30)

Company

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, supplying into bakeries, supermarkets and online food delivery companies. They are looking for an experienced multi-skilled Shift Engineer that is electrically biased, to join their close-knit team.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
  • Carry out PPMs, reactive maintenance & project work
  • Work on conveyors, food production & packaging machinery, PLCs, mixers, rollers, ovens, freezers, automation & controls, control panels, steam systems, robotics, wrappers, baggers
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities to ensure plant safety & reliability
  • Handling pneumatics, inverters, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, sensors
  • Project engineering - hands-on equipment upgrades & continuous improvements
  • Utilise the CMMS systems fully and assist in its development
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Must be an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias
  • Previously worked in food or FMCG manufacturing/production
  • Electrical safety and LOTO experience in an industrial environment
  • Qualified to HNC/HND level preferably or NVQ Level 3 Engineering as a minimum
  • MUST have completed a UK based time-served apprenticeship
  • Able to work well under pressure in a busy manufacturing environment
  • Positive and driven character
  • Knowledge of continuous improvements and project work
  • 18th Edition qualified ideally
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems
