Manpower is currently seeking an interim SHE Capabilities Specialist - Digital, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is fully remote with occasional travel as required to Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. This is a full-time temporary role to run until end October 2026, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £48,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

Flexibility with working hours as could be required to work with different time zones.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will be a member of the SHE capability expertise team Zero Harm to People, focusing on Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Contractor and Construction Safety, owning the delivery of Digital projects, owner of digital products and solutions in scope, and thus enhancing capability and fostering a strong SHE culture on sites and within and beyond the Unilever organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Ownership:

  • Owner of select digital projects, solutions, and/or products of the expertise platform.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for these solutions and products.
  • Track progress of delivery within the scope of the expertise platform.
  • Learn and understand various digital systems used in SHE and Unilever, understand interactions, implement chosen systems, and manage interactions.

Leadership:

  • Ensure timely delivery of solutions and products as per the plan.
  • Coordinate training sessions and support users globally to ensure successful implementation.
  • Coordinate SMEs to ensure functionality as needed.
  • Lead by example, promote safe behaviors, and foster a learning environment.
  • Support the development of Digital Strategy and Architecture aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct organizational needs assessments for digital solutions.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of tools through success measures, user feedback, and other evaluation methods.
  • Address functional issues, recommend improvements, and update solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure solutions are user-friendly, fit for purpose, and up-to-date.
  • Assist in revising functionalities and exploring new technologies for improvement.

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate within SHE and with other functions to ensure solutions deliver as planned.
  • Maintain relationships within SHE and with external stakeholders for smooth functionality.
  • Work effectively with stakeholders outside SHE to meet objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, finance, engineering, or related fields (preferred).
  • Experience in SHE, engineering, or IT.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time.
  • Experience in multicultural environments.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in SHE management systems and tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and sites.
  • Safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
