Job description
Overview

We are recruiting an electrically qualified Service Technician to join our team based in the area of Preston, Blackburn, Burnley or Bolton.

Responsibilities
  • You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electric overhead travelling cranes.
  • Trouble- shooting equipment breakdowns.
  • Consult with customers on repair and safety related issues.
  • Complete appropriate documentation through your mobile device.
  • The role reports to the Operations Manager and involves maintenance, repair and upgrade of our customers lifting equipment, primarily overhead gantry cranes. The work is varied and two days are rarely the same.
Qualifications
  • Apprentice-trained or equivalent and conversant with electrical engineering disciplines.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Previous experience with overhead cranes and hoists is advantageous; maintaining, repairing and servicing equipment in an industrial environment is essential.
  • Good command of the English language; personable with strong health & safety awareness; ability to work at height.
  • Hold a current driving licence.
  • Willingness to work extra hours; on-call rota with enhanced premium.
Hours and Pay
  • Based on 39 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Weekend overtime earnings double time.
  • A competitive basic salary with a fantastic OTE (55-65K including generous paid overtime and travel time).
  • Paid travel time from your home in the morning and on the return home from your last job of the day.
  • Generous overtime and double time at weekends. Call out payment.
