Service Manager UTC

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to recruit a Service Manager to work across its Urgent Treatment Centres with the main base being Ealing Hospital. You will be expected to have a close working relationship with the ED team and on occasion required to cross cover between ED.

This is an exciting time to join the UTC's leadership team and be part of our journey to delivering excellence in Urgent and Emergency Care. We will offer you a busy and fast paced environment where you will have opportunity to develop your professional experience. The Service Manager will be play a pivotal role within the division's leadership structure providing operational support, managing the service day to day of UTC.

The successful candidates will be expected to oversee a large portfolio of staff where you will be required to practice strict financial governance. In addition to delivering on our performance standards, the post holder will be expected to regularly present at divisional meetings, demonstrate ability to manage conflicting priorities, effectively line manage a large team, handle complaints, promote service improvement and maintain rota co-ordination. The Service Manager will be expected to practice visible leadership in their clinical areas to ensure their colleagues and team are effectively supported to deliver high quality care.

  • To ensure that the services meet all relevant contractual and performance requirements, including on-going assessment of future demand and capacity requirements.
  • To be accountable for the effective performance of these services, demonstrating achievements against national and local requirements.

Professional Qualifications
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Knowledge of UEC standards and performance
  • Budget management experience, including managing costs, monitoring and determining corrective action

  • Experience of presenting at meetings and MDT events to senior staff
Skills, Abilities and Experience
