A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to join Theatres, Anaesthetics & Critical Care CSU as a Service Manager for Anaesthetics, Pain Management & Sleep Service and Pre-Assessment.

We are looking for a reliable individual who will work in partnership with the specialty leads, clinicians and senior administrative staff to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care across multiple services.

The post holder will have significant experience working within a large complex organisation and delivering service improvement, change management, analytical, and risk management.

This is a unique opportunity for a well‑motivated individual to join an expanding, busy unit to showcase and develop their skills.

The post holder will also provide management support to the Clinical Service Unit (CSU) management team. He/she will be responsible for the performance of administrative and clerical staff and will ensure services are delivered within budget to agreed quality standards and in accordance with agreed activity levels.

Responsibilities
  • The post holder will work with CSU staff and other senior managers in the strategic development of the services provided by the CSU, including strategic and operational business planning and monitoring.
  • The post holder will develop relationships with key internal and external partners.
  • The post holder will ensure that the CSU functions as an integral part of the Trust and that CSU and Trust‑wide objectives are achieved simultaneously.

Person Specification
Experience – Essential
  • Proven leadership and managerial experience at Band 6 in operating theatres.
  • Previous surgery, anaesthetics, critical care experience minimum of 5 years.
  • Show experience of financial and budget management and the ability to manage resources effectively.
  • Can demonstrate a high level of clinical practice.
  • Management/Leadership training.
Skills – Essential
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good written and verbal skills.
Knowledge – Essential
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality.
Qualifications – Essential
  • Evidence of Degree or equivalent level qualification.
  • ENB 998, C&G730, mentor prep or equivalent modules.
  • Management or leadership qualification/training.
  • Evidence of further academic study.
  • Health related degree or equivalent qualification or evidence of working towards.
Desirable – Experience
  • Experience of developing and writing SOP's/Policies.

  • ENB176/ENB 182.
