Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a top‑tier Maintenance Engineer to join our team, specializing in servicing market‑leading, German‑made strapping machines. This field‑based position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a forward‑thinking business that sets benchmarks of professionalism and excellence in customer support and technical service.

Successful candidates will combine technical excellence with the highest professional standards, delivering high‑quality work and acting as a proud company ambassador at all times. You will provide exemplary on‑site service support across the UK and Ireland, ensuring the smooth operation of advanced strapping systems while travelling as required.

This role requires flexibility, willingness to accommodate extended hours, overnight stays, and weekend work (paid as overtime). It demands a Full UK driving licence and a volunteer attitude to train on‑site, virtually, and in our manufacturing plant in Germany.

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and optimise machine performance, using the company’s global One Service concept.
  • Consistently deliver excellent service, ensuring customers are supported and machines are working efficiently.
  • Maintain a tidy, well‑organised car stock, ensuring your vehicle, tools and uniform are always clean and in good order.
  • Create detailed service reports and communicate effectively with the service planning team to maintain accurate job records. Reports must be grammatically and numerically accurate and fit for the customer.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of how your work supports broader business goals.
  • Lead by example to create a culture of excellence, sharing ideas and seeking continuous improvements.
Skills and Attributes Required
  • Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in electrical and mechanical engineering (desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional verbal communication skills. Confidence in engaging with customers and colleagues, providing clear and professional responses.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and demonstrate initiative.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office software (desirable).
  • Proactive approach to manual tasks, including heavy lifting and handling machine parts.
  • Empowered mindset with strong observational skills and commercial awareness. Ability to identify upsell opportunities and share insights with colleagues.
  • Resilience, adaptability and problem‑solving when challenges arise.
  • Demonstrated punctuality, discipline and a strong work ethic. Proactive attitude and commitment to achieving and exceeding KPIs.
