Overview

Service Engineer (Healthcare and Scientific)

Field-based UK wide – the ideal candidate will be located in North Midlands.

Permanent Full-time 37.5 hours

Join our leading water technologies company to play a pivotal role in delivering best-in-class quality service to customers in the Municipal market, focusing on sewage and drinking water treatment sites.

Role requires a flexible approach to customer needs and working hours, which may include some weekends and public holidays. You will be on a rota to provide out-of-hours cover and rapid response to clients.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers by providing best-in-class quality service.
  • Be punctual, helpful and courteous.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and commissioning work.
  • Submit work reports, timesheets and all other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Complete site tasks and activities on time.
  • Provide after-sales technical and commercial support and feedback on future product development features and functions.
  • Identify recommendations and opportunities to improve the client’s system (reliability or productivity) and, where appropriate, quote parts, consumables or plant.
  • undertake upgrades and refurbishment work.
  • Provide regular updates to the line manager on issues with potential financial, reputational or operational impact on the company.
  • Carry out breakdown work, troubleshooting and fault finding.
  • Liaise and work with the appropriate sales team.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience as a Service Engineer in the Healthcare and Scientific industry.
  • A qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of the company’s products, applications and markets.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with previous client-facing experience.
  • Punctual and presentable.
  • Knowledge and experience in water treatment is desirable.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Passionate about providing a first-class service to customers.
  • Able to handle challenging conversations with customers and find resolutions.
  • Good IT competency.
  • Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
