Job description

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer/Service Technician to join our team at our Walsall depot. This hybrid role covers both depot-based and field-based work across the West Midlands, offering excellent variety and exposure.

Responsibilities
  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing pumps, generators, and diesel‑powered equipment across both the depot and customer sites.
  • Preparing, inspecting, and testing equipment to ensure it is fully operational before deployment.
  • Completing major overhauls and refurbishments of end‑of‑life equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and delivering efficient repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborating closely with the service team, hire controller, and foreman to support seamless operations.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑organised working environment, ensuring all equipment meets quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical experience working with plant equipment, pumps, generators, and diesel engines.
  • Strong working knowledge of EHSQ requirements.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, an M&E‑related apprenticeship, or equivalent.
  • A full UK driving licence.
