Overview

Bedford Borough Council is seeking an exceptional senior leader to complement its new innovative structure. We are seeking an inspirational, highly motivated, enthusiastic leader, with a clear vision and unrelenting commitment to support people to have choice and control over their lives, with a focus on living as independently as possible.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Adult Services, you will have significant adult social care management experience at a senior level, be innovative, have strong financial acumen, be educated to degree level or equivalent standard, and hold a suitable professional qualification related directly to the post.

You will be a key lead and active contributor in the continued evolution of integrated services and be accountable for development, performance and shift in culture towards greater integration and collaboration.

Accountable for providing strategic leadership for operational delivery over a range of areas, you will lead on key requirements relating to adult social care, ensuring services are delivered within budget and to council and national policies and frameworks, with a commitment to delivering the highest quality of service within available resources.

Portfolio Responsibilities
  • Health and Social Care Integration and Collaboration – including joint working on pooled better care fund
  • Statutory social work-related team responsibility (Hospital S / W Team- Home First), Physical Disability Team, Sensory Services, Occupational Therapy.
  • A range of CQC Regulated In house directly provided care services
  • Adult Social Care Finance Assessment services; Direct Payments, Financial Protection, provider payments.
