Overview

Carnival UK is in search of a Server & Storage Engineering Team Leader, who is crucial in supporting our technological direction and nurturing a high-performing team. The Engineering Team Leader will take responsibility for deploying, configuring, and operating IT Infrastructure platforms hosted on our ship and shore locations. Leading the planning, implementation and optimisation of the technologies and processes used to maintain Infrastructure platforms, encompassing hypervisors, data storage, installing, testing, or decommissioning and removing systems or system components.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and manage the adoption of tools, techniques, and processes (including automation) for the management of systems and services.
  • Lead, guide and mentor a team of engineers, and act as an escalation point for colleagues across the Technology department.
  • Ensure that operational procedures and documentation are fit for purpose and kept up to date. Ensure that operational issues are identified, recorded, monitored, and resolved. Provide appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users, and managers.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for implementing data protection and disaster recovery functionality for all business applications and business data.

Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as a CUK08, offered as a full-time or part-time position, on a permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams, with a passion for motivating, mentoring, and developing talent while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong experience with VMware vSphere, vCentre, SRM, Dell VXRAIL, and Microsoft identity technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
  • Proficiency in automation platforms (Ansible, Terraform, VMware Aria, PowerShell).
  • Solid understanding of Storage Area Networks and backup technologies (Dell NetWorker, Avamar, DPS, Veeam VB&R).
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, EU GDPR, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
