The Role - Senior Urban Designer

As a Senior Urban Designer, you will lead on urban design strategies, masterplanning and placemaking projects, ensuring high‑quality outcomes that prioritise sustainability, community engagement and design innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of urban design initiatives, masterplans and design codes
• Provide strategic design leadership across a variety of impactful projects
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and local authorities
• Oversee and mentor junior designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration
• Ensure compliance with UK planning policies and design standards

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 10 years' experience in UK Urban Design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in urban design, regeneration and placemaking
• Excellent knowledge of UK planning policy and procedures
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and GIS (Revit experience advantageous)
• Strong leadership, communication and client‑facing skills
• Passion for sustainable design and community‑focused development
