You’ll be joining our Highways Maintenance Transport Planning team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, where our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of business cases and transport studies, modelling using AIMSUN, PTV VISUM and SATURN, and economic appraisal using TUBA, COBALT, and the Active Mode Appraisal Toolkit.
• Act as a line manager, providing training to junior members of the Transport Planning Team.
• Lead on small to medium sized Transport Planning projects and coordinate multi-disciplinary input from colleagues, consultants, and stakeholders where necessary.
• Undertake Quality Assurance reviews on work undertaken by Transport Planners, Assistant Transport Planners, and consultants.
• Establish and maintain strong client relationships and work towards deadlines, ensuring delivery of work to time, cost and quality expectations.

What you’ll bring

• Proficiency in strategic (SATURN or VISUM) and/or microsimulation transport modelling (Aimsun or Vissim) and local junction modelling (Junctions 10/11 and Linsig).
• Proficiency in using TUBA, COBALT, and the Active Mode Appraisal Toolkit for economic appraisal.
• Proficiency in GIS (ESRI or QGIS).
• Experience providing input into successful Transport Business Cases.
• Experience using active travel design assistance and scheme review tools and applying design principles contained within Manual for Streets, DMRB, LTN 1/20, and Inclusive Mobility.
• Experience working directly with clients and on behalf of local authorities.
