Overview

Copello have partnered with an established Defence Engineering business in the recruitment of a Senior Trade Compliance Officer.

Working closely with the Trade Compliance Manager, you will help ensure regulatory obligations are met while enabling business operations to run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Managing UK export licence applications and maintaining accurate compliance records
• Liaising with relevant authorities on trade compliance matters
• Monitoring changes in export control and sanctions regulations
• Supporting internal training, audits, and policy adherence
• Providing guidance to internal teams on trade compliance requirements
• Assisting with international export authorisations and approvals

About you

• Strong working knowledge of UK export controls and customs requirements
• Good awareness of international regulations such as ITAR/EAR
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, stakeholder‑facing environment
• Experience in defence, aerospace, or regulated industries is advantageous
• SC Clearance is mandatory
