Senior Team Leader - Scrub Theatres - Band 7

We are seeking a dynamic and experiencedBand 7 Theatre Scrub Nurseto lead our dedicated team inOrthopaedic and Emergency Theatres. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

As aTeam Leader, you will:

  • Lead and manage a team of scrub nurses and support staff in orthopaedic and emergency surgical theatres.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and high-quality perioperative care.
  • Support the Theatre Matron and contribute to service development and clinical governance.
  • Act as a role model, promoting best practice and professional standards.
  • Coordinate staffing, training, and development within the team.
Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have:

  • NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) or HCPC Registered ODP.
  • Significant scrub experience in orthopaedic and/or emergency surgery.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for patient safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • NMC Registered Nurse / HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner
  • Specialist knowledge of theatres procedures / instrumentation acquired though degree or diploma plus experience and further post registration study / experience or management qualification in a related field
  • Certificate of Mentorship, clinical supervision or leadership
  • Working towards master's degree or above.
Experience
  • Sufficient and/or extensive experience at band 6 level within Scrub role
Skills
  • Proven ability to analyse and use data to support decision making and identify trends
  • Able to consistently manage complex / contentious situations with staff / multidisciplinary colleagues to address and solve complex situations /problems
  • Examples/evidence of Well-developed leadership and organisational skills/scenarios
