Overview

Senior Systems Engineer - Biotech Platform Development - Cambridge. A cutting-edge biotech company, based in Cambridge, are recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer who will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of next‑generation medical diagnostics and biomanufacturing platforms. This role involves technical ownership of complex, multidisciplinary systems and contributes to translating breakthrough IP into scalable, regulated products.

Responsibilities
  • Support design, integration, and commercialisation of semiconductor-based and biocomputing technologies across engineering and R&D teams.
  • Own product architecture and contribute to documentation to ISO 13485 standards.
  • Deliver hands-on systems work that combines hardware, software, and biology.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align technical execution with programme goals.
Qualifications
  • Experience in systems engineering, product development, or technical project delivery within biotech, diagnostics, or medical devices.
  • Strong understanding of regulated product development; exposure to startup environments, IP creation, or cross-functional team collaboration is desirable.
  • Background in mechanical, biomedical, or electronic engineering is ideal.
