Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the functionality and architecture of a sophisticated product platform. This role involves guiding technical decisions and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates will have experience in system design across mechanical and electrical systems, along with strong communication skills in technical English. The position offers a salary of £50,000–£65,000 plus bonuses and excellent benefits, including hybrid working and 25 days of annual leave.

Qualifications

  • Experience across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Background in motion systems, optics, robotics, or similar technologies.
  • Experience in high-precision tools or environments (e.g. advanced manufacturing).

Responsibilities

  • Own and define key system functionality, including layout, safety, and BOM.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and architecture plans.
  • Support design reviews, risk assessments, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive quality and resolve technical issues.

Skills

Experience in complex system or instrumentation design
Skilled in technical documentation, PLM, and change control
Strong communicator in technical English

Education

Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physics, or a related field
