Job description

The Senior Surveyor Automotive & Roadside will be based in either Bristol or Birmingham and will provide professional advice and services across a range of property assets including vehicle dealerships, petrol filling stations, EV charging hubs and roadside retail. The role supports both the commercial and strategic objectives of the business across a range of assets such as vehicle dealerships, petrol filling stations, EV charging hubs and roadside retail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Landlord & Tenant: Manage lease renewals, rent reviews and other tenancy matters to maximise asset performance.
  • Valuation: Prepare valuations for a range of property assets for purposes such as purchase sale, financial reporting and secured lending in line with RICS standards.
  • Acquisitions & Disposals: Identify, negotiate and manage the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold interests.
  • Development Advice: Provide input on development opportunities, feasibility studies and viability assessments.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and tenants delivering high‑quality and timely advice.
  • Market Research & Reporting: Monitor property market trends, prepare reports and advise on market conditions and investment opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with RICS standards, company policies and relevant legislation.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent knowledge of L&T matters including case law, strong negotiation and communication skills and the ability to write expert witness reports.
  • Good knowledge of property valuation principles and market analysis.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commercial awareness and client‑focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in valuation software (e.g. Argus, Excel).
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Real Estate, Land Management or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Surveyor status (MRICS or equivalent) preferred or working towards qualification.
  • Proven experience in general practice surveying across commercial or mixed‑use portfolios; sector experience would be beneficial training will be given.
  • Up‑to‑date understanding of RICS Valuation Standards and relevant property legislation.
