What You'll Do as a Senior Support Worker
  • Be a positive role model to the children and your team, leading by example with empathy, consistency, and integrity
  • Take an active role in creating and maintaining a safe, stimulating environment
  • Support children who may have experienced trauma, with behaviours that challenge with compassion and strength
  • Contribute to and lead on key working, risk assessments, and care planning
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, promoting best practice across the home
  • Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy in ensuring high standards, policy compliance, and quality assurance

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Solid knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations (2015) & Ofsted requirements
  • Experience with children / young people with autism, learning disabilities, or behavioural challenges
  • Resilient, calm under pressure, and skilled in de-escalation
  • Confident communicator, strong team player, and IT proficient
  • Willingness to work a shift pattern including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins
