Job summary

AECOM Exeter is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and delivery of water infrastructure projects, combining technical leadership with a collaborative team approach.

You will work within a dynamic Water Team, leveraging BIM and 3D design tools to develop robust, efficient solutions, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and internal specialists in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Civil or Structural Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Possess a range of structural analysis and design experience, particularly in relation to reinforced concrete and steelwork structures.
• Experience working in a digital delivery environment using BIM and 3D design tools.
• Have a membership/working towards membership of a relevant professional institution (ICE or IStructE).

Responsibilities

• Structural Design: Undertake the design and review of structural elements on wastewater and water infrastructure projects, from concept through construction.
• Collaborate with Clients and AECOM counterparts to ensure stakeholders buy in to solutions and contribute to technical capability.
• Quality: Produce and review deliverables, including calculations, drawings and technical reports to relevant standards and procedures.
• Deliver: Manage delivery to budget, programme and quality, and support project budget and programme.
• Explore: Seek opportunities to innovate and trial new methods by being inquisitive.
• Mentor: Delegate tasks, direct and oversee work of others and mentor junior staff.
