Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Water team in the UK. You can be based in one of our UK offices with a flexible hybrid working model.

Lead structural design across diverse projects, mentor colleagues, and drive innovative solutions for complex water sector challenges. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, engage with clients, and deliver high-quality drawings, calculations and reports.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification and experience in civil and structural engineering.
• Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional institution; for example, ICE, IStructE.
• Experience in developing robust and efficient structural solutions and managing technical delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience in structural design using appropriate standards and specification.

Responsibilities

• Deploy technical excellence in the design of a wide range of heavy civil engineering structures.
• Lead and oversee detailed design activities by others, and prepare detailed designs yourself.
• Identify and implement innovative ideas, best practices and new ways of thinking to deliver value for clients.
• Lead the structural design of projects and mentor the professional development of team members.
• Interface with other project design disciplines and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
• Involved in the preparation and reviewing high-quality drawings, calculations, specifications and reports.
• Ensure quality and compliance in project deliverables.
