Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join a delivery team in Coventry/Solihull. This role involves leading the structural engineering design for pumping stations connected to HS2, ensuring high-quality solutions and compliance with UK standards. The successful candidate will collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and play a significant part in one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes. The position is for a 6-month contract directly with the contractor.

Qualifications

• Typically 8+ years of experience in structural engineering design.
• Knowledge of UK design codes like Eurocodes/BS.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering design for multiple pumping stations.
• Coordinate design activities across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Perform site inspections and provide support during construction.
• Review contractor submittals and issue clarifications.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain compliance with standards.
