Job description

We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Design team based in Liverpool. The team designs a wide range of building types and site redevelopments across various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial for both public and private clients.

Location: Liverpool

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility available; please discuss this during your application.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Civil and Structural Engineering team in producing and checking structural design calculations, drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate structural engineering design information with other disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture, and building services engineering.
  • Develop and implement structural concept design strategies, ensuring alignment with sustainability and low carbon targets.
  • Visit sites for surveys and inspections; attend project meetings with clients and other professionals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, supporting professional development.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary approvals and consents from authorities like Building Control and support project consultations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering, or be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or member of relevant institutions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design to current British/European standards, with experience in applying CDM regulations and UK construction techniques.
  • Possess a full driving license for site visits.
