A leading NHS trust is seeking a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join their teenage cancer unit, caring for young patients aged 13-19. The role requires proven experience in haematology/oncology nursing, with duties including administering medications and managing ward staffing. Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse (adult or paediatric registrant). We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our teenage cancer unit, caring for young people aged 13-19 years old.
You must be an experienced band 5 or band 6 nurse (paediatric or adult) with haematology/oncology experience. You will have the opportunity to share and develop knowledge and skills in caring for a range of solid tumours and haematology cancers. You will care for patients undergoing a range of treatments including bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
You will be required to demonstrate experience and skills in this area and have leadership, development and organisation skills in order to coordinate safe efficient delivery of care to this patient group.
Our unit is committed to the care of young people going through a difficult time in their lives; we work closely with the Teenage Cancer Trust ensuring we treat the young person and not just the cancer. The unit has a group of dedicated nurses who aim to make the unit a pleasant environment.
